St. Nicholas Dance Troupe

The St. Nicholas Dance Troupe was established in the Fall of 2003 as another youth ministry of our parish. Its purpose was and continues to be to promote our Hellenic culture and traditions through music and dance, while also creating another venue of fellowship for our youth, and to afford them the opportunity to serve their parish by offering their time and talents to it.

The fruits of their labors has been showcased throughout the years at the Annual Festival, Apokreatiko Glendi, Annual Philoptochos Cooking Class, and the Metropolis of Chicago Vasilopita. They have also previously appeared at several HOMER Greek School events, and retirement communities and have represented St. Nicholas in the Hellenic Heritage Parade of Chicago.

Our dance troupe is open to all levels of knowledge of dance. The Jr. Dance Troupe is for those ages 6-12; our Sr. Dance Troupe, which will be resurrected this year, is for those ages 13-18.  Our instructor is an experienced dance troupe member and has full knowledge of the regional dances.

We invite all youth of St. Nicholas, ages six through eighteen, to become a member. Rehearsals are held weekly on Mondays from 6:30pm-7:30pm for Junior Troupe members - 7:30-8:30pm for Senior Troupe members, beginning in January, with additional rehearsals before performance dates, as needed.  To download and print an application, please click here.
